Nordic walking is an exciting new exercise using special walking poles. It is now one of the fastest growing sports in Europe.
Nordic walking is for everyone and for every level of fitness, from those returning to regular exercise to hill walkers and athletes. It is designed for the great outdoors, a natural gym for mind and body.
Iain is the INWA National Coach for Scotland (International Nordic Walking Association, based in Finland) and runs classes and Instructor training courses throughout the country for British Nordic Walking.
Nordic Walking exercises the whole body and is great for developing
cardiovascular fitness, posture and the large muscle groups. Calorie
burning increases by 20% compared to walking, and energy used by more
than 45%. Nordic Walking involves 90% of all skeletal muscles. Nordic
walking can be as gentle or as vigorous as you wish.
The half day course includes: coaching with equipment, hire of poles, fitness audit and assessment, warm up and stretching exercises, Nordic Walk and individual feedback on performance. Courses run most weekends from March to November.
£25.00 for Initial morning or afternoon group workshop (includes hire)
£15.00 for group 'improver' workshops (£12.00 with own poles)*
£50.00 for individual half day coaching session.
Special group rate for first session (six to ten people) from £90.00
Why not book a coaching session with your friends and family at your local beach or forest? (info@iaindavidson.com; 07545 593326)
(*These should be light Nordic Walking poles, not trekking poles)
