  • a fellow of the UK higher education academy;

  • a member of the Union of International Mountain Leaders;

  • a recognised tutor for the UK GRAD programme; and

  • an INWA Coach in Nordic Walking and Fitness.

Iain lives and works in one of Europe's last great wildernesses, the North West Highlands of Scotland, but he delivers his national and international award courses throughout Scotland, the UK and Northern Ireland.

Nordic Walking

  • Nordic Walking: One day and weekend courses in this new sport from Finland. Nordic Walking is now one of Europe's fastest growing fitness activities.

  • Iain also runs a Nordic Walking Activity Leader Programme to suitably qualified professionals and activity leaders.


Mountain Walking and Navigation Skills

  • The Northern Mountains: Expeditions to tackle the most remote peaks in Scotland and the Faroe Islands

  • Outdoor Risk Assessment and Navigation Skills Courses for Group Leaders

  • National Navigation Award Courses in Navigation and Essential Mountain Skills for all levels of ability, from novice hill walker to Mountain Leader Award trainee.
